How does the Educational Webcasting Network work?

The Educational Webcasting Network is designed to share live content from college campuses, non-profit organizations and institutions, globally to participating colleges, universities and high schools. It will provide a forum to create the virtual lecture hall, auditorium or classroom. The content that is being produced in these environments currently is being seen, predominantly, by those that can attend in person. With the Educational Webcasting Network, this content may be shared with subscribers to the network, allowing for greater exposure to the colleges, universities and non-profits, as well as the speaker. The end result is greater exposure to this educational content across the network.
The Educational Webcasting Network will webcast seminars, lectures, panel discussions, meetings, symposia and group discussions….all live and interactive as well as archived for later use.
Educational Webcasting Network reaches the audience, creates a positive public image, allows far more visibility and accessibility and distributes powerful and influential content, promoting social change, mobilizing support and showcasing work.
Educational Webcasting Network programs are virtual meetings of real-time interactions that take place over the Internet, using integrated audio and video, chat tools, and application sharing. They offer a way to engage participants in fully interactive, online learning experiences such as lectures, discussions, symposia and conferences. Many Educational Webcasting Network virtual meeting applications integrate with course management tools, providing participants with a unified learning system including access to online meetings.
An archive presentation is a video recording of the virtual presentation on a participants’ computer screen, with accompanying audio. Archives can be thought of as video/audio re-broadcasts. They provide a simple means to extend rich content to participants who might benefit from the material but cannot attend the live, interactive presentation.
