MISSION

The EWN Foundation mission is to help other non-profit organizations and institutions advance learning through technology innovation. To achieve that mission, we have adopted a strategic focus on educational content and how it impacts successful learning. We support High Schools, Colleges and Universities along with non-traditional methods of education to organizations and institutions that use technology to advance learning.

Effective teaching and learning is first and foremost about the participant. EWN Foundation believes that its efforts begin with a consideration of the participant, whether a Net Generation student; an adult learner; or a faculty member, staff member, or administrator is seeking to use technology to improve educational success.

We also recognize that each institution and organization is unique. Therefore, we avoid "one-size-fits-all" approaches. Instead, we focus on practices that work for multiple institutions and organizations, specifically practices that can successfully adapt to their unique needs and circumstances.

GOALS

• Provide an opportunity for refining and promoting the vision of education through technology and transition to sustainable development – through all disciplines of education, public awareness and training.
• Give an enhanced profile to the important role of education and learning in sustainable development.

1. Improving access to quality education by way of technology;
2. Reorienting existing educational programs;
3. Developing public understanding and awareness.
4. Providing training.

While the range of activities will vary widely, EWN Foundation, Inc. can apply the following seven strategies to the institutional framework and in the alliances in which they function:

4. Capacity-building and training;
5. Research and innovation;
6. Use of technologies in education;
7. Monitoring and evaluation.

Education enables us to understand ourselves and others and our links with the wider social environment, and this understanding serves as a durable basis for building knowledge and respect. Along with a sense of justice, responsibility, exploration and dialogue, the EWN Foundation, Inc. aims to move towards adopting behaviors and practices which enable us to have a more complete educational experience.

Higher education occupies an important position in shaping the way in which future generations learn to cope with the complexities of societal development. Higher education prepares the future decision-makers of society for their entry into the work force and they actively contribute to the societal development through outreach and service to society.

EWN serves as a platform for dialogue, exchange and sharing of experience and information on salient aspects of higher education in the twenty-first century.
